June 26, 2009 - I have taken all of my previous posts and placed them on the Blog that you can click on to the left. That will give new-comers a history of the site if you are at all curious.
This website has been dedicated to voicing my opinion on the smoking bans all across the county since November 2006, and speaking against "EXCESSIVE TARGETED TAXES." I have had over 15,000 visitors to the site and had over 3,000 individuals join the site and become free members. I guess that's pretty good for a guy who is nobody.
Like a lot of folks, I used to have a pretty good job several years ago but was severanced out and struggled ever since then.
President Obama during his campaign promised he would not raise taxes on the middle class... Well he has already done that with more to come. Cigarettes have gone up by 62 cents per pack because of his federal tax. The biggest consumer of tobacco products is the middle class and below. So bingo..... a tax on the middle class!!! Soon alcohol and soda pop will follow. Bang.... we are nailed again. What has happened to fair and equal treatment? I guess the current administration feels it can tax a smaller group of folks and get away with it. What do you think would happen if they had raised the tax on diapers or milk per pack or gallon by 62 cents? My guess is it would be a pretty big out-cry.
I would call for an immediate roll-back of ALL "EXCESSIVE TARGETED TAXES" on the federal, state and local levels. If we want to fix government then continue to reorganize as they are doing now.... I would also suggest that some smart finance people crunch the numbers and find out what it would take to clean up the federal, state and local budgets by way of an across the board temporary tax increase to pay off debt. Maybe it's a 5 year plan, then roll the temporary tax back to normal levels and then start fresh.
Everyone has debt.... But we should have managable debt. A lot of Americans have borrowed way too much. Most of us have cut back, reorganized, developed a pay-off our debt plan and hopefully have a point in the future where we are even again and can save and spend our dollars better.
We need to bring industry back to the United States and keep it here. We need livable jobs now!! We need long-term solutions.... We need consumer products the average person can afford, not hope to afford. We need to keep interest rates low for affordable housing and somehow keep energy costs at an affordable level so winter stops killing us just because we are trying to keep warm and drive our cars.
I am going to write a lot more on this in the future and I will change the structure on this website so you can also post your thoughts. I will encourage you to write your elected officials, newspaper editoral departments and other influencial folks to create proper and fair change.
I am 55 years old and I am tired of just existing!
